A little wargame spring cleaning was in order…

The unsorted clutter.

So the small “closet” I have for painting and modelling, has moved beyond its once clutter of post move which is to say I spent most of the weekend in “cleaning” mode*. I had always intended to have a modelling space and a gaming table in separate rooms, a work area that could be left a little messier behind a closed door, and the gaming space where the finished efforts, some militaria, a bar, and of course the table could take pride of place. When WFH was initiated I had quickly purchased some IKEA desks to give me the area I needed to continue to remain employed and the space I had wanted for the gaming table was seconded as my work space, and it sort of stayed that way even as I returned to an actual work environment.
So instead of having an area dedicated to my modelling and one for gaming I tended to have two spaces and neither was utilised well, in that each was a compromise and each offered too many distractions that readily fuelled my procrastination. Mainly it meant that I had two areas for modelling, and no space for gaming. So another clean up was in order, and a return to my original vision, added to which the IKEA desks purchased for WFH would give me plenty (though not as much as I hoped) counter space for the modelling area.
And of course during the ongoing process of the clean up I have found at least 2 other projects I had forgotten about, one of which has been turning in my mind since I saw the figures and took stock of what I had and what I could do with them. A quick Litko order, for DBA/DBMM sized ply and magnetic bases, and a rebasing project should see them ready for the tabletop before too long, as two greek city state armies in 15mm.
* As opposed to the usual tidy and move from A to B, which while giving the illusion of more space really just orders the “lead pile” into a neater arrangement. “Cleaning mode” means that some things actually got circular filed.
